The mayor's office of Giradot in the state of Aragua, working together with the National Government, is advancing a strategic plan for the rehabilitation of eight health centers in the capital city of Maracay and setting up a comprehensive and specialized care network.
The burgomaster of this town, Rafael Morales, explained that two of these eight hospitals are already operational: the Con Maduro Más Health Center in the Plaza del Estudiante and the January 23 Health Center, which includes the Casa de los Abuelos and the Con Maduro Más module.
“The intention is to unify all these centers through specialized consultations, assigning each one specific benefits according to the needs of our population,” Morales explained, while stressing that the data collected in recent censuses and community diagnoses will serve as a basis for determining priority services in each sector.
He explained that the network will include specialized units such as a maternal and child center, comprehensive dental services, a cardiovascular and pneumonological area, as well as a modern imaging center. “Our fundamental goal is to promote preventive care,” he stressed, stressing that each center will address the most urgent needs in its area of influence.
The entire system will be supported by medical specialists and the support of government institutions to ensure its long-term sustainability.
Regarding the implementation schedule, it was announced that the first center to join the network will be the Maternal and Child Center in Barrio Lourdes, currently undergoing infrastructure adaptation and staff training. It is estimated that in the coming months it will begin to serve the population.
