National Assembly: Interview process began for selection of the Judicial Nominations Committee

The Preliminary Committee of the National Assembly (AN) for the formation of the Judicial Nominations Committee began this Monday, May 4, the cycle of interviews with citizens who aspire to join this group, which will be responsible for selecting the new members of the Judicial Branch.
According to the La Iguana website, out of a total of 94 candidates, 43 were submitted by civil society organizations and 51 registered for their own reasons.
The final Judicial Nominations Committee will consist of 21 members: 11 deputies from the AN and 10 representatives from various sectors of civil society. Applicants are subject to a scale that qualifies their academic credentials and professional trajectory.
Among those shortlisted are at least 30 women, representing 31% of the total number of applicants.
