To add up to 90 legal instruments since its installation in 2020, the National Assembly (AN) approved 17 laws built in the joint work of the Legislative Branch and the People of Venezuela in 2024, said the President of the Parliament, Jorge Rodríguez.

During the 2024 Legislative Balance and Closing of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly, Rodríguez stressed that “each of the 90 laws enacted implies a fundamental effort to exercise true democracy, to consult, to go to the Assembly, to go to the conversation, to go to the question, not to remain locked only in these walls.”

He stressed that, although mistakes have been made and urged deputies to deepen their work, he has carried out the task. “You rescued the Legislative Power of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and put it back at the service of the People,” he emphasized.

Rodríguez highlighted that “there was not a single law firm, much less a law firm in eastern Caracas that soiled, with its dirty hands, none of the legal instruments approved in this National Assembly (...) here every law is a people, every word of those laws was built by the People.”
