The National Assembly (AN) approved the initiation of an investigation and asked the Standing Committee on Administration and Services to immediately take action on the excessive charging of private parking lots.
In the regular session, the first vice-president of the AN, Deputy Pedro Infante, raised constant complaints about the excessive charge of private parking rates in various parts of the country, which charge flat rates of up to eight dollars.
In this regard, Infante proposed that the Permanent Committee on Administration and Services of the AN, headed by Deputy Pedro Carreño, initiate coordination with the Ministry of People's Power for Transportation and the National Institute of Land Traffic (INTT), together with the Ministry of the People's Power of Commerce, in order to review and take appropriate actions in accordance with the law to protect the Venezuelan people from this overpayment in parking lots.
On this point, the president of the AN, Jorge Rodríguez, issued instructions to the above-mentioned Commissions to initiate an investigation into the copper of private parking lots in Caracas and other cities in the country.
On his account on the social network Instagram, he stressed that “from the National Assembly we agreed to create a Commission to investigate these irregularities in a peremptory manner. We will not allow abuses that affect the pockets of Venezuelan families.”
