National government activates special security measures prior to the 27J elections

As a prelude to the municipal elections next Sunday, July 27, starting this Friday, the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages is prohibited throughout the Venezuelan territory, a measure that will last until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, July 28.

The regulations were ratified in Extraordinary Official Gazette No. 6,921, in a joint statement between the Ministry of Popular Power for Defense, and the Ministry of Internal Relations, Justice and Peace; which was shared by the strategic operational commander, Domingo Hernández Lárez, on his Instagram account.

In addition, the Strategic Operational Command of the FANB will proceed to maintain strict control of the movements of people across maritime, land and air border routes until next Monday at 11:59 p.m. The carrying of firearms and bladed weapons was also suspended for the same period of time.

Finally, restrictions apply such as the prohibition of meetings, congregations and public demonstrations; the movement of heavy machinery in the national territory until July 28 at 11:59 p.m.; up to the suspension of the sale of pyrotechnic devices until 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 28.
