Through joint work between the government of Nueva Esparta and the mayor's office of Mariño, the Porlamar project for the Front of the Future will be carried out, through which it will seek to rescue the historic center and modernize the commercial and tourist infrastructure.

This strategic plan aims to return the city to its status as the main tourist and economic reference in the island region. The proposal, led by Mayor Eneas González, not only contemplates the aesthetic embellishment of streets and avenues, but also a reengineering of urban dynamics through the Porlamar Open Sky brand, an identity that seeks to organize and empower the metropolis as a center of urban and commercial life, the regional press said.

One of the fundamental pillars of this plan is direct intervention in the central area with façade recovery, through which 200 homes have already been serviced, roads paved and sidewalks and sidewalks adapted in the colonial zone.
