The National Government, through the Ministry of Transportation, is carrying out a corrective engineering plan to address 61 edge faults on the country's main roads, reporting to date the successful completion of 12 of these works at critical points in Mérida, Miranda, the Capital District and Sucre, to guarantee safety as well as the free movement of citizens.
According to a press release from the ministerial portfolio, as part of this deployment, the intervention at kilometer 71 of the Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Highway, in Miranda state, stands out, where correction work recorded a solid 56% of overall progress after completing the emptying of the bases of the wall, concentrating current maneuvers on profiling the slope and placing steel on the protective screen to fully restore passability on this strategic axis to the east of the nation.
In addition, technicians approach the Carayaca - El Junquito highway, in the state of La Guaira, activating parallel work fronts both in the Los Molinos sector and at kilometers 28 and 29, through the construction of retaining walls, the assembly of gabions and the deep cleaning of the drainage systems that make it possible to stabilize the affected land.
