With a great concert, the Simón Bolívar National System of Youth Orchestras and Choirs honored the memory of the heroes of Venezuela, for the anti-imperialist victories of Junín and Ayacucho.

The concert was held at the National Center for Social Action for Music, located in the Quebrada Honda sector, in Caracas, two centuries after the military triumph of the Liberation Army in southern lands.

Present at the venue were the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas; the executive director of the National System of Youth Orchestras and Choirs, Eduardo Méndez; as well as representatives of the Venezuelan Military High Command, the Diplomatic Corps accredited in our country and other special guests.

“In just two days we will be celebrating that victory (Ayacucho) that didn't happen on Venezuelan soil, it happened on Nuestro Americano soil. Its architect, El Libertador, had Antonio José de Sucre as his disciple and concrete maker of this immortal victory. Today, those names ring out not only as the bell of a glorious past but as a bell of the present and the future,” said Minister Villegas, according to VTV.

“This generation and for generations to come, we must be committed to bringing our respectful and admired view to the exploits of our grandparents, of our great-grandparents, but above all we commit ourselves to the new generations to build a world in which diversity is the characteristic and not the uniformity imposed by force,” he said.

He also thanked President Nicolás Maduro for having instructed him to carry out this program that starts today, and in particular this musical tribute prepared by the system, and asked for applause for his musicians and the young people of Vene Zuela.
