National President: Community Militia Units are a momentous step in articulating the right to peace

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, said that with the activation of the Militia Community Units in the country, “a transcendental step is being taken for all of Venezuela to articulate itself in defense of the right to peace, independence and territorial integrity.”

He emphasized that it is necessary to “unite everyone who can be united against the main enemy. That is the order, to unite the entire Homeland, the entire People, the country and all of Latin America and the Caribbean, to defend our rights, our lands and seas.”

“In the defense of our natural wealth, in short, the right of our families, of the Venezuelan family to live in community, to develop, to live in peace and to build their own prosperity,” he said.

The instruction was given in the Simon Bolivar Hall of the Military Academy of the Bolivarian Army (AMEB), where he led the act of activating the Militia Community Units in the nation's 5,336 communal circuits.
