National President: There are more than 52 thousand candidates for the election of justices of the peace

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro reported that there are more than 52 thousand candidates for the election of justices of the peace in the country, which will take place on December 15.

“The new democracy will be consolidated in its construction hand in hand with intelligence, knowledge and the creative powers of the People,” he emphasized.

He stressed that for this reason, “more than 5 thousand Community Circuits, throughout Venezuela, will choose judges and justices of the peace with popular vote.”

During the 69th edition of his program “With Maduro +”, he announced that the electoral campaign will begin this Wednesday, December 4 and will last 10 days, with the purpose of publicizing the capacities of the candidates.

“We are going to the electoral campaign, to learn about the Law, the merits and capacities of the candidates and to mobilize people, to go out and decide their destiny in the Communal Justice of Peace,” he said.

In that regard, he specified that “we started on Wednesday, December 4th. It's 10 full days of campaigning in every corner, this is democratizing justice in all territories and handing over the power of justice to our people.”

In this context, he stressed that “there is great political will throughout the nation, there is a lot of activation in the face of the elections.”

For his part, the first vice-president of the National Assembly (AN), Pedro Infante, pointed out that the National Electoral Council (CNE) began developing cards for electoral centers.
