In the state of Anzoátegui, more than 150 patients benefited from the National Surgical Plan, an initiative of the Ministry of Popular Power for Health (MINSALUD) for the care of medium and highly complex surgeries.

With the support of regional authorities, healthcare and surgical services are being promoted in this entity, “a joint effort that demonstrates the commitment of the Bolivarian Government of President Nicolás Maduro, and the support of Governor Luis Marcano to ensure timely responses to requests made through the 1×10 system of Good Governance and the VenApp.”

The state's single health authority, Roberto Rojas, reported that they seek to settle the country's surgical debt, and to this end, medical teams from Caracas and Anzoátegui have teamed up to perform interventions such as cholecystectomies, eventroplasties and umbilical and inguinal hernioplasties, the regional press said.

The interventions are performed at the Luis Razetti and Domingo Guzmán Lander hospitals in Barcelona, type I hospitals in Pariaguán, Jesús Ángulo Rivas in Anaco, Luis Alberto Rojas in Cantaura and at the Jesús de Nazaret Popular Clinic in Puerto La Cruz.
