National Surgical Plan performed more than 350 operations in Mérida

Physicians from the National Surgical Plan performed 351 surgeries of high and low complexity in the state of Mérida, to benefit an equal number of patients.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Health, of the total number of interventions, 276 interventions were performed at the Instituto Autonomo Hospital Universitario de los Andes (IAHULA), where the team of specialists resolved cases of pacemakers, defibrillators, as well as retinal conditions and cataracts.
On the other hand, in the outpatient sector, 22 low-complexity operations were performed, such as removal of moles and warts. In addition, during the day of surgical care, 15 caesarean sections and 7 gynecological surgeries were performed.
The National Surgical Plan is implemented through continuous deployments and days in Venezuelan territory with the purpose of guaranteeing the right to health in a timely and free manner.
