National Surgical Plan treated 70 people in remote areas of the state of Amazonas

Public Health System personnel deployed a day of the National Surgical Plan in the Atures and Autana municipalities of the state of Amazonas, which will last five days and will end next Friday.

The operation, which to date has allowed the successful intervention of 70 patients, focused mainly on the gynecological area, offering resolution of cases such as hysterectomies, prolapses and sterilizations.

According to a press release from the ministerial portfolio, as part of the post-operative epidemiological control and surveillance, the multidisciplinary teams carried out a direct approach to the indigenous community that participated in a deployment of the previous National Surgical Plan. On this occasion, postoperative care and follow-up were offered to 14 patients who underwent surgery for hernias, cholecystectomy, varicocele and lipomas.

In turn, the specialists provided guidance and medical recommendations to the families of the patients who benefited from this initiative, in order to support the speedy recovery.

In addition, the Indigenous Care and Guidance Service (SAOI) team evacuated a child from the Yekuana people who suffered febrile syndrome, bronchiolitis and dehydration, to receive specialized care and care at the Dr. José Gregorio Hernández Hospital; likewise, two citizens who received specialized medical attention and treatment were transferred back to their community.
