A dozen indigenous patients from the Mara municipality, Zulia state, were treated on a new day of the National Surgical Plan, which has reached 131 interventions in recent months.
The day, as reported by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), was held at Hospital I San Rafael de Mara, where patients received specialized medical care and the required supplies, medications and an appointment for postoperative follow-up.
The patients, who were recruited during meetings held by the Mayor's Office of Mara, were operated on for cases of gallstones, said the director of the hospital, Gigliona Galué.
Mayor Edgar Labarca highlighted the work and commitment of medical, nursing and other health workers. “Our priority is health,” said the local authority.
Labarca stressed that these days will continue progressively to provide timely responses and social welfare to families in the municipality.
