On June 28 at 3:00 p.m., the National Theater of Caracas will reopen its doors for the return of the musical “The Letters of José Gregorio”, a staging that presents itself as a warm embrace to the heart of Venezuelan homes.
According to information from Venezolana de Televisión, the main objective of this show, promoted by the Office of Vice-Postulation of the Cause of Canonization, is to discover and connect with the most human part of San José Gregorio Hernández, raised to the altars in October 2025.
By reading his original letters, the public will not only see the scientist, but also the man of immense sensitivity: the committed layman, the friend, the writer and the musician who made service to others his way of life.
To make this trip an unforgettable experience, the emotional letters alternate with a completely live musical repertoire that travels from Venezuelan tradition to the greatest international hits, which evokes those good moments that live in the collective memory of the public
Diego Toledo, Raúl Gavila and now Francisco Hernández, have had on their shoulders the responsibility and honor of playing San José Gregorio Hernández throughout almost 60 full house performances.
