Venezuelan authorities captured, in our territorial waters, a vessel carrying 3,600 kilos of cocaine, said the President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro.
“A few moments ago, we legally banned a boat carrying 3,600 kilos of cocaine. The crew members were surrounded and using the proportionality of the force ordered by justice, they were captured and the drugs seized to be destroyed,” said the Head of State during a meeting of national and international journalists, where he also highlighted the preparation that our Armed Forces and State Security Bodies have to face criminal groups linked to drug trafficking.
In this regard, he criticized the actions of United States military forces who allegedly killed in the Caribbean Sea, in disrespect of all international laws and human rights, a vessel that was supposedly used for drug trafficking.
“There has to be an investigation at the highest level for this fact. The video (of the alleged bombing of the boat) is of a military nature and the official information about it is that it was a military attack. It means that a military attack was calculated and recorded against civilians who were not at war or militarily threatening any country. If these people were committing a crime, there are laws, in every country in the region, for the interdiction of criminals at sea,” he stressed.
