Through work between the personnel of the Ocumare Unified Command of the Gold Coast and the government of Aragua, the road that connects the town of Ocumare with Cata and Cuyagua is being cleared, in order to enable vehicle passage through both road arteries in the shortest possible time.

The work began in the Ocumare dome, a distributor that provides access to the towns of Cata, Cuyagua, El Playón and La Boca del Río.

Faced with the contingency generated by the earthquake that occurred last Wednesday, June 24, the Unified Command activated an immediate response plan to address the effects. The absolute priority of this deployment has been to clear roads, focusing efforts and the use of heavy machinery provided by the Bolivarian Government of Aragua, on the timely removal of large rocks, sediments and debris that broke off the mountain, obstructing free traffic and putting drivers at risk.

Mayor Wilmer Leal thanked the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez and Governor Johana Sánchez for their support in carrying out the cleaning work.

“With these timely and coordinated actions, the Ocumare Unified Command of the Gold Coast succeeds in restoring normality and safety on the road, guaranteeing safe traffic flow and reaffirming its capacity to respond effectively by protecting the population from natural events,” Leal said.
