Oil workers reject statements by extremist sectors that seek the privatization of the industry and have demonstrated in favor of the defense of Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) and all hydrocarbon sectors owned by the Venezuelan State.
“We, the workers in the hydrocarbons sector, categorically reject the recent statements of Mrs. María Corina Machado regarding the attempts to privatize our company PDVSA, because it directly threatens and is against our energy sovereignty,” said spokespersons from the Jose fractionation plant and office, located in the state of Anzoátegui.
“With our heads held high and with the pride of those of us who are working every day in our facilities, we say enough! Our company is not an exchange currency; on the contrary, it is the company that supports our country,” they told the cameras of Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).
The men and women of the national industry said that they speak from the experience of those who know every piece of equipment, every valve and pipe of the plants installed in the national territory.
“And in these trenches of honest work, full of commitment, we reaffirm that we will not allow the interests of the nation to be violated under false promises; we are always willing to extract hydrocarbons for global markets as long as they bring benefits to our Venezuelan people. We reiterate that our commitment is to the dignity of the Venezuelan family, which depends on this daily flow of gas and oil for their well-being.”
Venezuelan oil tankers expressed their testimonies of support for the policies advanced by the President (E) of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.
“The commitment is great, it's mutual; this work team is for Venezuela. PDVSA is not negotiated. We are workers aware that the country, because of its energy priority, is called to play a primary role in global geopolitics; therefore, in our capacity as guardians of these resources, we affirm that we are fully prepared to open up to global markets for the export of our hydrocarbons for the benefit of our people.”
