Around 150 land titles were awarded to residents of the 23 de Enero parish, through Operation Caracas Smile, an initiative of the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, in order to address the 22 localities of the country's capital.
In this regard, Meléndez highlighted that the favored people had been waiting for land titles for more than 20 years. “With this delivery of urban land titles, justice is done for the welfare of the people of Caracas,” said the mayor.
It is important to note that the activity took place at the closing assembly of Operation Caracas Smile on January 23, which “allowed us to know the early victories of this deployment that we have developed in the Sierra Maestra sector,” he added.
These “early victories” in turn include the provision of the popular office, sports schools, sidewalk recovery, pedestrian crossings and medical care for the inhabitants of the area; focused on each of the Seven Transformations (7T), Meléndez explained.
In this regard, he also highlighted that the rest of the requests were systematized and are now part of the Concrete Action Agency (ACA) of the Mayor's Office of Caracas.
“I thank each of the leaders who promote the approach in this cultural and combative parish that is always active (...) We are going for more,” concluded Mayor Carmen Meléndez.
