The sectoral vice-president of Defense and Sovereignty, Vladimir Padrino López, questioned this Sunday the inaction of the United States (US) Government to end the scourge of drugs in its territory.

During a review of the operations of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) against organized crime, Padrino López stressed that “drug trafficking must be combated with coherent, effective programs.”

“I don't understand how all the national power of a power like the United States, a superpower, could not, with all the technology, all the intelligence, that this has a lot to do with intelligence, the issue of drug trafficking, all its power, could not put an end to the centers of gravity of drug trafficking. They have not been able to wipe out the crops, quite the contrary, wherever crops pass, they grow, the crops double,” he questioned.

He stressed that the North American country has seeded “the entire financial system, the entire financial banking issue of money laundering works with impunity. Drug trafficking is just another lubricant for the United States economy,” he warned.

In this regard, he pointed out that real actions are being taken in Venezuela. “We are fighting the battle and we are winning the battle. We are winning the war against drug trafficking with everything we are doing,” he emphasized.
