Padrino López: Here is a people fervent of patriotism getting ready to defend Venezuela!

The sectoral vice-president of Defense and Sovereignty, Vladimir Padrino López, reaffirmed that since the day of enlistment in Plaza Sucre de Catia, in Caracas, the Venezuelan people have been mobilized throughout the national territory participating in the second day of military enlistment in defense of the Homeland against imperial aggressions.

“The People assume a much more determined position in defense of the Homeland, within the framework of this permanent aggression that the United States has had against Venezuela; they have practically been confronting North American imperialism for 26 years, but in the last 10 years it has become a siege, which is a military strategy by nature,” he said.

He reaffirmed that in the face of this siege, this People have resisted it and has fought them in every possible way “under the command of our Commander-in-chief Nicolás Maduro; they have not been able to, here is a standing people, here is a political-military leadership standing next to the People, standing up to the world and also giving their face to the rude imperialists, who want to manufacture lies to threaten peoples,” he said.

“In the 21st century, they intend to threaten a people with force, with fabricated lies. It's absurd. Here is Venezuela standing, with dignity, with conscience, with civic-military unity,” he said.

He emphasized that today Venezuelans are with fervent patriotism getting ready to defend the national territory. At the same time, he indicated that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) will always remain on the side of the People, as Commander Hugo Chávez taught them.

On the other hand, he said that the FANB maintains an active patrol in airspace in the northern Caribbean, as well as operational reinforcement on the border of Táchira and Zulia, as part of the security plan to combat drug trafficking and terrorism.
