After the assessment of Operation Sifontes 2025, the sectoral vice-president of Defense and Sovereignty, Vladimir Padrino López, instructed the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) to be alert to the mafias in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana.
“From beyond our jurisdictional waters, we must be very aware of the Trinidadian mafias, of the Guyanese mafias. This is a territory susceptible to false positives, and I announce this to the People of Venezuela, because these Trinidadian mafias of trafficking in persons, trafficking, smuggling fuel and other products, as well as those that exist in the territory of the Cooperative Republic of Guiana (...) are specialists in making boats and semi-submersibles,” he said.
He stressed that “these are clear signs that these mafias that operate there must be constantly confronted, confronted, with the Constitution in hand, our laws and our rules of engagement and combat.”
In this regard, he highlighted the importance of having a lot of activity in the area. “We all know the intentions of North American imperialism, its vassals, the current Guyanese government and Exxon Mobil to try to close our exit to the Atlantic, and they are exploiting oil in pending waters to be delimited. This is another maneuver, then, another important front that needs to be monitored by the Strategic Operational Command,” he warned.
