The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) validated advances made by the National Public Health System in the hospital and outpatient network in the state of Monagas.

The liaison of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Eric Escobar, took a technical tour of the main healthcare centers in the municipality of Maturín.

The representative of PAHO validated the operation of the “Dr. Manuel Núñez Tovar” University Hospital and the Popular Office Type 3, located in the La Gran Victoria Housing Complex. In these facilities, compliance with standards of care and the effective implementation of the public health programs that the ministry deploys in the territory were verified.

This visit made it possible to verify the operation and strengthening of the medical infrastructure under the coordination of the Ministry of People's Power for Health (MPPS), the body that directs the social protection policies issued by the National Executive to guarantee free and quality care for the entire population.

The tour was technically supervised by Delia Cedeño, director of the Integral Health Network of the state of Monagas, together with the authorities of the Community Care Network and the coordination of Health Programs.

One of the highlights during the day was the comprehensive recovery of the fifth floor of Maturín's central hospital, where the PAHO liaison praised the modernization of the areas, and stressed that these dignified and humanized spaces are essential for the recovery of patients.

In addition, in the area of prevention, Escobar highlighted the success of differentiated family planning consultations in the Popular Consultorio Popular “La Victoria de Chávez”, a strategic program of the National Government designed to break down communication barriers and ensure universal access to contraceptive methods for Monaguense youth.
