Paraguaná Special Economic Zone strengthens working ties with China

As part of the 25th Edition of the World Forum of Special Economic Zones (SEZ), the president of the Institute for Higher Studies of EEZ in Shenzhen, China, Tao Yitao, returned to Falcón State to verify the recommended conditions and adjustments during her first visit last April.

The information was provided by the governor of the state of Falcón, Víctor Clark, on his account on the social network Instagram, in which he noted that the Chinese delegation met with the regional government team, businessmen and other actors related to economic activity in the region.

During his speech, Yitao indicated that the entity has a privileged geographical location that makes it even more attractive for international business connection, in addition to having installed capacity both for industry and for production and export.

“I am very pleased to return to the ZEE of Paraguaná, because it seems to me to be one of the most privileged areas because it has resources to consolidate the industrial base in one or two years, I am sure that in Falcón they will achieve many successes,” she said.

For his part, Governor Clark said that the high-level visit strengthens cooperation ties between Venezuela and China to develop the Paraguaná EEZ and thus contribute to the economic boost of the country executed by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, with the superintendent of the International Investment Center, Johan Álvarez and the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodriguez.

“We already have a line of work that we have developed in brotherhood with exchange, advice and support from Shenzhen to consolidate the ZEE of Paraguaná,” he emphasized.

He said that the Chinese delegation will visit several factories, ports, companies and areas that were evaluated during the first visit in April and merited some adjustments.

Clark pointed out that other prioritized areas that were defined in economic activity agreements and that promote industrial, scientific, technological, tourism, education, financial and innovation will also be addressed, given the potential to provide answers.

“We hope in the coming months to see the result of the strategic vision that, through the Organic Law of the EEZ and the national development plan, is strengthened by the Bolivarian government,” he said.

Clark said that the working meeting within the framework of the Forum will be held in Caracas in which economic policies will be strengthened thanks to the recent meeting held between the head of state and the president of China, Xi Jinping.
