Parliamentary Friendship Group with the European Union defines action agenda for interparliamentary relations

To take the first steps towards a rapprochement with the European Union (EU), the deputies of the National Assembly that make up the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the regional block agreed this Friday, from the spaces of the Bolivian Museum in the capital city.
The president of the Parliamentary Group, the deputy Jorge Arreaza, proposed, first of all, that a delegation from this body pay a visit to the headquarters of the EU and open up paths for dialogue.
Arreaza also indicated that it is essential to have clear objectives for rapprochement with European countries.
Also, according to a press release, the vice-president of the parliamentary group, deputy Ilenia Medina, supported the position of the instance, and stressed that the current political situation opens the door to positive forms of dialogue with the EU.
Gilberto Giménez, also a member of this body, confirmed that “this is a good time to achieve success in Venezuela's relations with the EU. In the same way, he asserted that there are Venezuelan experiences that can be used for exchange with different countries in the region.
In turn, the deputy Fernando Bastidas urged to rescue economic and political spaces with Europe, especially commercial exchange with nearby countries such as Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands and France.
