PDVSA activated protocols to control explosion at Lamargas Compression Plant in Zulia (+statement)

Petrleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA)
reported that, on the morning of this Friday, May 15, 2026, an
explosion occurred at the Lamargas Compression Plant, located in Block 5 of Lake
Maracaibo, Zulia state.
In a statement published
on its social networks, the state oil company indicated that the protocols established for the control of the event,
the preventive evacuation of personnel and the protection of
operations in this lake facility have been activated. As well as immediate care
to assist the injured.

Petrleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA)
reports that, on the morning of this Friday, May 15, 2026, an
explosion occurred at the Lamargas Compression Plant, located in Block 5 of Lake
Maracaibo, Zulia state.
Immediately, the established
protocols for the control of the event, the preventive evacuation
of personnel and the protection of operations in this lake facility were activated.
In addition, six immediate care teams
were deployed to assist the injured. The state company has provided
the necessary material resources, specialized personnel and logistical operations
to extinguish the fire in the affected section of the plant;
while a Technical Committee will investigate its causes, which do not affect the continuity
of oil and gas operations in the West.
PDVSA reaffirms its commitment to the comprehensive
security of its human talent and to the operation of its
facilities at the service of the nation workers
