Peasants join the Bolivarian militia to defend the Homeland in any scenario

The Minister for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Julio León Heredia, stressed that the national peasantry has been present and has joined the military enlistment to defend the entire territory of Venezuela in any scenario.

“The peasantry is not only a productive force, but an organic force that is transformed into a militia and that has stood firm and has told the Bolivarian Militia we are ready, ready to defend this territory,” León Heredia said in statements for Venezolana de Televisión.

León Heredia asserted that in all the states of Venezuela there is rural participation in the formation of Peasants' Councils.

“Currently, in 18,405 communities, Peasants' Councils are being formed, with greater force in the states of Apure, Barinas, Guárico, where there is undoubtedly a large presence of rural peasant communities,” he added.

He also praised the participation of indigenous peoples, who have their Community Council and who also have a productive activity.

Minister León Heredia congratulated the peasant people of Venezuela for their participation in the election of spokeswomen and spokespersons for the Peasant Councils. Process, convened by the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, which seeks the formation of the National Peasant Union Ezequiel Zamora.
