The
vice-president of the organization of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV),
Pedro Infante, called on the People to come out and exercise
their right to vote to continue to be part of the construction of the
participatory and leading democracy that is being experienced in the country.
“This is a
great electoral holiday (...) today we celebrate this election with great joy and strength
because it is the People speaking out (...) and the call is for those
who are missing to vote, to come and vote is very fast (...) so that everything that is missing comes out,
come and support the candidate and youth projects of their choice and be
part of the construction of the truest, fullest and most beautiful
democracy in humanity”, he emphasized after exercising his right to vote.
He also
stressed that the Popular Youth Consultation “marks a new historical
fact of Venezuelan democracy and that it will be a reason for reference and study in different parts
of the planet; today all over Venezuela, youth projects
are being chosen”, which reflect their dreams and aspirations.
He noted that today's
election in which mayors and councilors are also elected closes an electoral
cycle, recalling that tomorrow marks one year since the re-election of President
Nicolás Maduro and that the governors and legislators were recently renewed.
In addition, he stressed that with these elections there is a new defeat for the fascists and those who have wanted to impose the agenda of violence in the country. “They have been defeated by democracy, by the people and by institutions,” he said.
