The Peruvian Public Prosecutor's Office filed a complaint against President Dina Boluarte and several former ministers of her government before the Congress of the South American nation.

The judicial authority's complaint is due to the fact that more than 40 people were killed in the protests between December 2022 and February 2023.

It should be noted that the Public Ministry accuses Boluarte and the others involved of homicides qualified for exercising excessive use of force to neutralize the demonstrators.

The Congress, allied with the Executive, could hinder the progress of the complaint against the president, which would harm the judicial process, the news agency Hispantv reported.
