In a sustained effort to guarantee the right to visual health, the Plan for Health and Life 2026 has successfully intervened more than 6,500 patients nationwide. The days consist of phacoemulsification surgeries with the placement of an intraocular lens, a high-tech procedure aimed at correcting cataracts and restoring vision to thousands of Venezuelans.

This massive deployment responds to the goals set by the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, and the Minister of Popular Power for Health, Nuramy Gutiérrez, aimed at paying off the national surgical debt and providing an effective response to cases reported through the 1×10 System of Good Governance.

The national coordinator of the Cataract Surgical Plan, Dr. José Gregorio Rincón, reported that intensive approaches are being carried out this week in several states. “One of them is Barinas, where we are going to serve 500 people and right now another schedule is starting with which it is expected to treat 1,500 patients,” said the specialist.

Dr. Rincón also announced that planning for the Portuguese state is already under way, with the goal of treating 500 patients next week and another 1,200 in the following weeks.

He explained that the flow of care begins with attracting beneficiaries through the VenApp application. Through this technological tool, the patient or their families carry out the report in a personal way, allowing the health system to activate care protocols in a direct and transparent manner.

With these actions, the Bolivarian Government reaffirms its commitment to hospital efficiency, bringing free and quality surgical solutions to the most vulnerable sectors of the country.
