A total of 1,169 officials of the Bolivarian National Police (CPNB), as well as state and municipal bodies, were accredited as criminal investigators to clarify crimes under eight-year sentences.

The information was released by the Ministry of People's Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, in its account on the social network X, in which it indicated that the event was held at the facilities of the National Experimental University of Security (UNES).

In his speech, the Deputy Minister of the Integrated Criminal Investigation System, Humberto Ramírez, reported that “after a training process in this school, public servants have the experience to investigate criminal acts with lower penalties, under the direction of the Public Ministry (MP), as the governing body in the matter.”

He highlighted that Venezuela has five thousand police investigators, “who are able to respond to cases that are reported.”

He also pointed out that this process of strengthening police investigation in the country is part of the programmatic actions of vertex six of the Great Quadrants of Peace Mission, a public policy on Venezuelan citizen security.

Ramírez stressed that these new men and women in the criminal investigation will actively participate in the processes of the Houses of Justice to ensure an effective mechanism in judicial matters.

“When we are empowering state and municipal police with criminal investigation services, we territorialize attention to citizens who for some reason cannot go to the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC) to file their complaint, but they do have a police headquarters nearby,” he said.
