Poetic Readings of Our America begin at CELARG next Monday

Poetic Readings of Our America, proposals directed by the renowned teacher and poet, Luis Felipe Bellorín, will take place starting Monday, June 10 of this year, at the facilities of the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies Rómulo Gallegos (CELARG), with the objective of deepening the understanding of the work and the legacy of the most influential verses in the Latin American region.
The meetings will take place over seven weeks and will have the purpose of establishing a weekly session, on Mondays, from 10:00 in the morning to 12:00 noon, with the purpose of delving into the thinking of the most outstanding poets in America, as well as exploring their works in depth.
In addition, throughout the various modules of the literary event, it is planned to analyze the different contributions of literary figures of important figures from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Jamaica, Peru, Uruguay, Saint Lucia and Venezuela.
In this regard, through the Poetic Readings of Our America, participants will immerse themselves in the works of iconic poets such as Mario Benedetti, César Vallejo, Pablo Neruda, Jorge Luis Borges, Vicente Gerbasi, Manuel Rocha, Carlos Drummond de Andrade, Ludovico Silva, José Martí, Judith Hamilton, Louise Bennett, Nicolás Guillén and Derek Walcott.
Luis Felipe Bellorín has more than fifty years of artistic experience as a poet, composer and teacher. He currently coordinates the Permanent Workshop on Literary Studies, at the Casa de Nuestra América José Martí. It also develops a wide range of activities for the dissemination of the thought of the Venezuelan philosopher, Ludovico Silva.
