As part of the second phase of the Great National Pilgrimage for a Venezuela Free of Sanctions and in Peace, a meeting was held this Wednesday with agro-industrial producers, in the Portuguese state, led by the president of the National Assembly (AN), deputy Jorge Rodríguez, with the purpose of recognizing their fundamental role in building a sustainable economy,
“I want to announce from here, after having heard the words of this brother about a Law that has been asked of us by livestock producers throughout the national territory, because it is a Law, which although criminal, is a Law for the Protection of Livestock Activity, because that Law that was approved before the National Constitution of 1999 was left behind, so I want to announce and inform you that this Thursday, the 11th, we will approve in the first discussion the reform of this legal framework of the sector,” he said.
He stressed that this Act establishes the legal and criminal framework to protect livestock production, which defines and punishes crimes such as abigeato (cattle theft), protects production units, and guarantees the nation's agri-food security.
Rodríguez thanked the Peasant Councils and stressed that just as the People contribute to the construction of a prosperous, independent and sovereign country, they must have a government that promotes the rebirth of Venezuela.
He stressed that, after overcoming difficulties, the country faces a future of hope, and it is a collective responsibility to achieve the prosperous Venezuela that our daughters and sons deserve.
