This Thursday, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the island, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, appeared amid strong tensions with the Donald Trump administration in the United States (USA).

“The theory of collapse and the insistence on it are related to a whole group of constructs that the U.S. government has tried to characterize the Cuban situation. This theory of collapse is associated with one of the trends in which the U.S. government is committed to,” the Cuban president said in an appearance.

Díaz-Canel stressed that they had applied all possible pressures against Cuba, recognizing then that there is no failed State but a State that has had to face with great resistance “the greatest pressures of the world's leading power.”

He also added that the collapse cannot be associated only with the pressures and intentions of an imperial government. “In our vision in the face of collapse is the concept of resistance, which has to do with defending ideas and convictions in which we believe.”
