The president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, said, this Tuesday, that the signing of the agreement between Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) and the Italian company ENI marks a key moment for the country's energy development and the strengthening of international relations in this sector.

“Today undoubtedly marks a milestone in relations between ENI and Venezuela (...) This day will be marked in the history of our energy relations,” he said, reaffirming the relevance of the agreement for productive development and cooperation between both parties.

During the event, Rodríguez pointed out that this understanding represents one of the most important energy bets for Venezuela in recent times, considering that it will contribute to increasing production and boosting the national economy.

“For the well-being of the People of Venezuela, for the well-being of the Peoples of Europe and for the international economy in general, one of the biggest investments to increase production is made by ENI,” he said.

Rodríguez stressed that the agreement will make it possible to strengthen the country's energy capacities, especially in areas with large reserves, and announced that concrete results are expected in the coming months derived from this strategic alliance.

“I know that in the coming months we will give this good news for the energy world, for Venezuela and for Italy we will give this good news,” he said, reaffirming that this step will have an impact not only on the country, but also on Europe and the international energy market.
