The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, strongly condemned the attempted aggression directed against the president of the United States, Donald Trump and his wife, Melania.

Through a post on his Telegram channel, Rodríguez extended his good will wishes, as well as to those attending the Correspondents Dinner.

“Violence will never be an option for those of us who defend the flags of peace,” said the President in Charge.

The President of the United States and his wife Melania were evacuated this Saturday from the White House Correspondents Association Dinner, which was being held at a hotel in Washington, D.C., following reports of gunshots.

International media report that the suspect in the incident is in the custody of the secret service.
