The president in charge Delcy Rodríguez, in the context of the Review of the Amnesty and Release Process, explained that the advances are not limited to the full freedoms derived from the Amnesty Law, but that they include different procedures and mechanisms that converge on the same objective.
He specified that through the Commission for the Judicial Revolution, the Program for Democratic Coexistence and Peace and consultations with universities and NGOs, 395 additional releases have been carried out, a figure that he said will exceed 500 in the next few hours.
“We have had results but it goes beyond the Amnesty Law, there were 885 cases prior to the amnesty, of which 8,740 benefited from this legal instrument and I think that in the next few hours there will be about 500 additional releases,” stressed the national president in charge.
He also stated that these processes are allowing the purification of the criminal justice system, orienting it towards what the country demands and needs to guarantee political-social tranquility and national peace.
The president in charge specified that these results do not derive only from the amnesty, but from the confluence of different ongoing judicial processes, including the National Program for Democratic Coexistence and Peace, who have dedicated themselves to evaluating those cases that are not included in this law,
