The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted this Monday the importance of training youth in all sectors to strengthen national economic development.

“We need trained young people, and the role of the university, of technical education is fundamental,” said the president in charge during the award ceremony of the robotic operating room and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery Area at the University Hospital of Caracas.

He recalled that more than 41,000 young people have registered on the Venezuela Renace portal, where 75% have expressed a desire for entrepreneurship, and 25% of young professionals want to join the new projects promoted by the Executive with private investment.

“We are going to distribute that record to the different companies that come to invest in Venezuela. And young people who graduate from our universities, who are in this training process, must also be involved, incorporated, and employed in these new investments, in everything that has to do with national development,” he said.

In this regard, he emphasized that “the education agenda must be accompanied by the engines of the Venezuelan economy (...) that it is absolutely related, that there is no dispersion of efforts in Venezuelan education, in university education.”
