This Sunday, April 19, the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, called for all Venezuelans to join the pilgrimage to leave a Venezuela free of sanctions for future generations.
“Today I declare a pilgrimage for Venezuela, today I declare a pilgrimage so that Venezuela can fly free from sanctions and today I declare a pilgrimage for a Venezuela in peace, in harmony, in recognition, in reconciliation and in coexistence,” he said.
Also, from the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary in Chiquinquirá in the state of Zulia, he called for a “miraculous renewal for Venezuela (...) that would heal hearts, so that just as Jesus washed the feet of the sick with his hands and holy water, in that same way the hearts of those who have hatred, resentment, intolerance can be washed and that we Venezuelans can meet again, live together, we can have a Venezuela that is for everyone and for all”.
He emphasized that, with regard to sanctions and blockades, millions of boys and girls “do not know what a country in economic freedom and social welfare is.” “It's our turn, if we have to walk around the planet 100 times to get Venezuela free of sanctions, we'll be there, walking together, praying, praying together, singing together to leave our future generations a country free of sanctions,” he said.
For this reason, he reiterated the call for all Venezuelans to join the pilgrimage that will end next May 1st in Caracas. “Today, April 19, we also commemorate the anniversary of that first spark for freedom and independence, with that spirit of our people, with those historical and inalienable roots; let's go together, I ask you, let's go together on a pilgrimage,” he said.
In addition, he urged that “this pilgrimage should never stop in our hearts and in our conscience”.
