President in charge: 8,740 people have been released in 63 days of the Amnesty Act

“The amnesty already covers 8,740 people who benefited from this Law, 8,740 people who were deprived of their liberty and with the amnesty law were benefited and now have full freedom,” said the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, during the presentation of the Balance of the Amnesty Law.
Rodríguez specified that of this total, 8,426 people were subject to precautionary measures and obtained full freedom.
He recalled that, prior to the entry into force of the Act, 885 people were also released from prison on February 20, “but also since the month of January, a total of 1,594 people have been released from prison.”
