The President in Charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, arrived this Sunday, May 10, in the Netherlands to participate in the defense of the country Venezuela before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over a territorial dispute over Guiana Essequiba.
Upon arrival at the airport, the Venezuelan president disembarked from the aircraft accompanied by the delegation and was greeted by Phyllis Dreischor, Senior Project Officer, Visits and Events of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of the Netherlands.
The official mission seeks to present a file based on documentary evidence challenging the jurisdiction that the International Court of Justice seeks to assume in the terms proposed by Guyana.
In this regard, Venezuela maintains that the Paris Arbitration Award of 1899 is “null and void” due to procedural fraud, and therefore advocates direct negotiation between the parties.
