President in charge: Domestic poultry production has reached its highest point in the last decade

The president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted that domestic poultry production has reached its highest point in the last decade, with a growth of 48%.
“Production in 2025 exceeds that of the last decade, it is the largest in the last 10 years, with a growth of 48%. And so far this quarter compared to 2025, it has grown by 12%,” said Rodríguez, at the VII National Poultry Congress.
He emphasized that the poultry sector is very important for the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which represents between 6 and 7%. “It's not just about having full shelves, which are there thanks to full supply, there is growth in production, because there is growth in demand,” he said.
The President in Charge explained that the consumption per person of white protein reflects a substantial improvement: The egg went from 60 units per capita, in 2017, to 168 units in 2025. While chicken increased from an average of 7 kg in 2017 to 31 kg today.
Rodríguez said that, “for the next three years, an estimated growth in egg production of 60% and of chicken, which is an extraordinary protein, a substitute for meat.”
The XII National Poultry Congress brings together the main actors of the poultry industry, producers, businessmen and specialists in the sector, and is consolidated as the epicenter of technological and strategic exchange for one of the most vital industries in the diet of Venezuelan families.
