This Friday, May 08, the president in
charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted her pride because 34% of the
cadets who are currently training in the first year of the
Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela (UMBV) are women.
“As a woman, I am proud to know that 34%
of today's cadets are training, they are women, it's an extraordinary step forward
for our Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB),” Rodríguez said from Fort Terepaima in Cabudare, Lara state.
In this regard, he specified that this figure is a
recognition that is undoubtedly due to the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez.
For this reason, he stressed to the FANB cadets
that today they wear “the badge of being sons of Bolívar and Chávez”; so
today more than ever they must be committed to asserting and defending “the
rights of a free, independent and sovereign Venezuela”.
