President-in-charge supervised road clearance work in Caracas on Sunday night after heavy rains

In the evening hours of this Sunday, August 23, the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, carried out a technical inspection in the vicinity of Boyacá Avenue, at the height of the MariPérez distributor, with the objective of evaluating the maintenance work and the passability of this main road artery in the capital after recent rainfall.

“The teams don't rest, yesterday with the torrential rains that affected Caracas, Miranda, Aragua, today in the state of Zulia, we have always said it: we have called for ecological awareness, respect for the rights of nature,” he said in statements to Venezolana de Televisión.

He also stated that the high temperatures at the moment “bring thunderstorms and that obviously has an effect. Yesterday at 1:00 in the morning, everyone saw the images of the Valle-Coche it was a river, because the Valle River overflowed.”

“But already at 1:00 in the morning, thanks to the workers, the brigades, the firefighters, the civil protection, the mayors and the governorates, it is a joint effort,” he said.

During the tour, he noted the work carried out by the public service crews and recognized the performance of the brigades, which managed to clear the road in record time after the displacements of land and waste generated by the intense rains in the city of Caracas.

“The call is always for commitment and citizen solidarity, for solid waste to be placed where it should be placed,” he emphasized.

The security forces of the State and the Civil Protection System are being deployed and under constant monitoring in vulnerable areas of Greater Caracas to ensure the mobility and security of citizens.
