The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, appointed the vice-president of sovereignty and security, Vladímir Padrino López, to readjust the strategic, military and police intelligence and counterintelligence processes of the Venezuelan State.

In this regard, he indicated that this readjustment is to “adapt it to the new circumstances of the 21st century and especially to the circumstances of the 21st century and especially to the circumstances of Venezuela,” he said.

He stressed that important steps have already been taken in this process because the country's intelligence and counterintelligence agencies have done their job to preserve the peace of the People.

“If we didn't have the intelligence and counterintelligence that we have, we wouldn't have the victories we have accumulated. But we need to do some reengineering,” he said.
