The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,
Nicolás Maduro, denounced this Monday the intensification of
media campaigns against Venezuelan migrants in the world, with the aim of
discrediting the country in the face of the presidential elections of this year 2024.
“There is a resurgence of campaigns, the dirty war,
false positives, fake news; and all in a season where
social networks have a greater weight, where what you see here on the phone, on the
laptop, already says it's true. Then the campaigns begin,” the head
of state criticized during the #35 edition of his show Con Maduro+.
He recalled that last week this campaign was initiated by the
government of the United States (USA), in reference to an article published by the North American
media La Voz de América, “the campaign to demonize the Venezuelan
migrant people.”
In this regard, the Dignitary pointed out that “our
migrants are noble people who, because of the sanctions and because they
stole 99% of our income and put us in a very difficult
economic situation, migrated first to the south - Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile,
Argentina - and a good part of that migration, the product of xenophobia in these
countries, now look they made a misleading offer to him in the north and part of that
migration came to Venezuela and another migrated to the north” , he explained.
He warned that imperialism tries to show that “
working, noble, decent people are all criminals (...) to
position a daily negative matrix about Venezuela on
international portals, on social networks, that misrepresent Venezuela abroad.
Maduro stated that this responds to the impossibility of
imperialism and the national right to win the elections. “They are trying to
damage the image of Venezuela to try to 'save the furniture' as they say,
because by no means
will an option of imperialism and the extreme right beat the popular and revolutionary option that the Bolivarian movement puts
in the elections, be assured, they are playing what is called
advanced play to try to harm the image of Venezuela,” he explained.
