As part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, expressed his recognition of the People and the historical values of struggle and of this Asian nation.
“From the Homeland of Bolívar and Chávez, we send a big hug to the daughters and sons of 'Tio Ho', a people whose heroic history inspires us and fills us with love,” said the head of state through his Telegram channel.
The head of state emphasized that the brotherhood between Venezuela and Vietnam was forged in resistance to the same imperial challenges.
“We share a story of sacrifice and valuable learning. With the V of Vietnam and of the Victory, we affirm that we are one people in spirit. Like them, we never give up or kneel down,” he said.
He also highlighted Vietnam's development model as an example of self-determination and sovereignty. “Their progress, driven by science and technology, motivates us to build our own sovereign Homeland with the same determination,” he said.
The president reaffirmed the bonds of friendship between the two nations: “Long live the friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and Venezuela! Long live the eternal memory of Ho Chi Minh!”
