The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, this Thursday, July 17, convened the fourth International Meeting of Specialty Coffee in Venezuela, which will take place from November 27 to 29.
The announcement was made in Lara state, where he chaired the National Assembly of Communal Coffee 2025-2026, where he noted that the event will have international juries and delegations from multiple countries.
He specified that these delegations will be made up of tasters from countries such as Colombia, Turkey, Russia, Germany, Costa Rica, China, Ecuador, Brazil and Italy. “The best tasters in the world to taste the best coffee in the world,” he said.
He also ordered that the Teresa Heredia de Ospino Torrefactory be transferred to the communes and to move forward with the next roasteries and companies.
This measure seeks to replicate the success already demonstrated in other experiences, in which production has improved significantly under community management.
“We must continue to transfer the coffee roasters that are in the hands of the State and that is why I immediately order that the Teresa Heredia de Ospino Roaster be transferred to the communes. And let's move forward with the next roasters and companies,” he said.
