This Thursday, August 28, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and Commander in Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, Nicolás Maduro, reported that the efforts to coordinate binational zone number 1 are moving forward for the sake of sovereignty, peace and the future of prosperity of border peoples.
“I want to thank the president of Colombia, with whom we share a single flag: yellow, blue and red; the banner of the liberating armies, the Mirandina flag that was born in Haiti, Colombia with which we share the same sword and the same father: Bolivar. (...) President Gustavo Petro issued an order today to reinforce with 25,000 men a new force throughout the Colombian Catatumbo area,” he said.
In that regard, he pointed out that “we Venezuelans and Colombians who are united by peace, prosperity and sovereignty care and preserve our lands.”
He noted that he instructed the Minister for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, to meet with his counterpart from Colombia, Sánchez, and to continue to coordinate so that binational zone number 1 (which encompasses Táchira from the Venezuelan side and the border from Zulia to La Guajira) continues to be defended, cleansed of narco-terrorist gangs and we continue to build the foundations of a stable peace with equality, social development and prosperity.
He also explained that the one thousand three fighters who recently graduated in Special Operations once they fulfill their special permission go to Táchira and travel with the methods they have learned to La Guajira, cleaning the area and consolidating peace and sovereignty.
