On the occasion of the 242nd anniversary of the birth of Simon Bolivar, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, expressed through his Telegram channel the pride of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean in being able to count the Liberator among their heroes.
“The man of ideas, lights, difficulties and action, the military genius who never tired of fighting,” said the president, stressing that the Bolivarian commitment is still intact.
““We will not give rest to our arms or rest to our souls until we defeat empires and the powerful, wherever they are,” he said.
President Maduro emphasized that the Bolivarian Doctrine guides patriotic action in the current century and inspires the struggle for self-determination and social justice. “Remembering Bolivar is celebrating our identity and reaffirming our historical responsibility,” he said.
The president emphasized that the legacy of the Liberator is present in all parts of the country as a symbol of resistance and dignity of the People.
“Bolivar, our commitment and challenge, is the moral of our country,” he stressed.
